Mike McAlister Campus Minister Mike comes to the UH campus with a background
in campus ministry, youth ministry, and preaching
ministry. His passion is in helping students build
their relationship with Jesus and with others. Mike
enjoys laughter, good food, desserts, music, sports,
writing, teaching scripture, and helping people discover
"the Point." He met his wife, Charmayne,
at Texas Tech and they have three children and six
grandchildren. A graduate of the University of Tennessee,
Mike is also a Certified Human Behavior Consultant
and a Certified Pre-marital Counselor.
Dale Elliott CCSF Board President Long-time supporter of the student ministry
at the University of Houston, Dale values his own
college experience of being active in the Christian
Student Center at the University of New Mexico. Holding
an MBA from the University of Houston, and retired
from telecom engineering and from education, he serves
in church leadership and other ministries. He and
his wife, Mary Charlotte, have three grown children
and six grandchildren.
Don Edwards CCSF Financial Administrator
Don is the Administrative Minister at Bering
Dr. Church of Christ . He has been in ministry
for 40 years, serving as a pulpit minister and an
education minister in churches in Arkansas, Louisiana,
and Texas. As a native of Arkansas, Don received his
ministry training at Harding University. He has also
done graduate work in religious education at Abilene
Christian University and in business/accounting at
the University of Houston. He is married to Joan Howard,
the Director of Bering Drive Christian School, and
they have six children.
Roderick Lide CCSF Board Member
Roderick Lide is retired and living in Houston, Texas.
His background includes receiving a Bachelor of Science
in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tennessee
in 1960. This was followed by 25 years practicing Engineering
in a variety of assignments including research, technical
management, various administrative management assignments
and senior production management. He then attended law
school where he received his Juris Doctorate and began
his career as in-house counsel to the same company he
served as an Engineer. Roderick retired from industry
in 1994 and began a solo law practice until full retirement
in 2008. He has been a member of the Church of Christ
all his life performing various tasks from teaching
to being an Elder. He has served as a Board Member for
three years. He and his wife, Judy, are members of the
Bering Drive Church of Christ in Houston, Texas.
Rolfe Johnson CCSF Board Member Upon graduation from Harvard Law School in
1964, Rolfe Johnson joined the Houston law firm known
as Butler & Binion. During the ensuing years,
Mr. Johnson served as a partner of the prestigious
firms, Butler & Binion, Mayor Day & Caldwell
and Jenkins & Gilchrist (Houston offices). In
1991, J. Rolfe Johnson, opened his own law office.
Already a highly referred business legal counselor,
Mr. Johnson continued to serve a wide variety of corporate
clients in the U.S. and abroad.
Today, attorney Rolfe Johnson, an International Transaction
Lawyer, represents multi-national companies seeking
complex business agreements with partners and investors
around the world. Although he has worked in international
business law for over forty years, he sees the landscape
of his practice continually changing.
Steve Sandifer CCSF Board Member Steve Sandifer has served the Southwest Central
Church of Christ as a minister since 1977 and has
been involved with the Student Foundation since that
time. A graduate of Abilene Christian University,
Steve and his wife Jo, have two sons with two wonderful
daughters-in-law and 4 grandchildren. Southwest Central
has supported the UH ministry from its inception.
Jim Taylor CCSF Board Member Jim Taylor graduated from Abilene Christian
University in 1989 and from South Texas College of
Law in 1993. He is an attorney with the firm of Beck,
Redden, & Secrest, LLP and practices in the area
of business litigation. He, along with his wife and
two sons, are members of West University Church of
Christ where he serves as an elder. For the last seven
years, he has worked with the college and young professional
group.
Dr. Lynn Mitchell CCSF Advocate Dr. Mitchell is head of the UH Dept. of Religious
Studies and Church of Christ minister. He is a spiritual
resource for our students & has been a mentor
for the campus ministry for many years.
Amy Ramirez CCSF Advocate Amy was a student in the UH Church of Christ
ministry. She serves many students as an academic
advisor and champions our ministry.
